Detective Sherlock Holmes and his stalwart partner Watson engage in a battle of wits and brawn with a nemesis whose plot is a threat to all of England.

Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law are once again back together as Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson to take on their new adversary - Professor James Moriarty (Jared Harris) in Guy Ritchie’s ‘Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.’

A sequel to Ritchie’s action sequel ‘Sherlock Holmes’ (2009), ‘Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows’ opens in nineteenth century Europe, where France and Germany are at loggerheads over anarchist bombings. Entrusted with the task of solving the case, Holmes zeroes in on Moriarty. From here on starts the battle of one-upmanship, where Holmes beats Moriarty and foils latter’s nefarious plans of world war.

As Sherlock Holmes and Watson, Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law are livewire. Their ready wit and brilliant one-liners simply keep you engrossed in the film, which otherwise lacks the radiance of a sharp script. And yes, we do get a chance to witness Holmes and Watson’s ‘bromance.’ Sparks fly when Watson marries Mary (Kelly Reilly) and Holmes fears losing his most trusted aide, partner.

‘Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows’ literally comes alive with the gleaming performances of Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law. The duo is completely in sync with their characters and shares a great camaraderie as co-stars.

‘Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows’ is a treat for the fans of Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law. And yes, how can we forget Sherlock Holmes?
